This book bears a special relationship to The Social Contruction of Reality - A Treatise in the Sociology of knoledge (1996), which i wrote together with thomas Luckmann. Especially chapter i and 2 of the present book are a direct application of the same theoretical perspective in the same theoretical perspective in the sociology of knowledge to the phenomenon of religion.
